Plane (2023) is an action-thriller film directed by Jean-François Richet, starring Gerard Butler and Mike Colter. The movie follows a tense and high-stakes adventure as a commercial airplane is forced to make an emergency landing in a dangerous, war-torn region, with the passengers and crew facing immediate threats from hostile forces.
The story centers around Captain Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler), a seasoned airline pilot who is flying a routine international flight. However, things take a dramatic turn when the plane encounters a powerful storm and is struck by lightning, causing the aircraft to crash-land on a remote island.
The island, however, is in a war zone, and as the survivors try to regroup, they quickly realize they are not alone.
Among the passengers is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), a convicted criminal being transported back to the United States.
Gaspare’s dangerous past becomes crucial when a group of armed rebels seize the wrecked plane, intent on taking the hostages and using them as leverage in their political struggles.
Torrance, who is trained for emergency situations, is forced to work with Gaspare, despite his criminal history, as they attempt to protect the survivors and escape the increasingly hostile environment. Together, they must navigate the dangerous island terrain, fend off threats from the rebels, and fight for their lives while trying to send a distress signal and get rescue.
